Handling a painted steel part in the LAKES shop production area.

Industrial coating | Dubnica nad Váhom

Industrial wet painting of steel parts and structures

In Dubnica nad Váhom we coat new steel parts and structures and renew coatings on existing products for engineering and industrial manufacturing. Every job is first assessed for surface condition, dimensions, handling and the required result.

The right approach for part condition and location

The best method depends on whether you have a new product, an existing surface to renew, or a structure that cannot practically be moved to the shop.

Industrial coating

For new steel parts, welded assemblies and structures that can be processed under controlled shop conditions. The coating system and required preparation are assessed against the brief and the product’s intended use.

Coating renewal

For technically serviceable parts where the original coating has lost its protective or visual function. The scope of renewal depends on substrate condition, adhesion of existing layers and the extent of damage.

Surface preparation

When corrosion, old layers or substrate condition may affect adhesion and the coating result. We carry out or coordinate surface preparation according to part type and project requirements.

Mobile coating

For structures after installation and parts that cannot practically be dismantled or transported to the shop. Suitability on site depends on surface condition, access, protection of the surroundings and scope of work.

From first assessment to handover

The result is not only the final coat. Part assessment, substrate preparation, coating application and output inspection must work together.

Job assessment

Photos, drawing, dimensions, approximate weight and surface condition help determine whether the part is suitable for shop processing and what information is still missing.

Substrate preparation

The substrate must be prepared so it can carry the chosen coating system. The exact procedure depends on its condition, existing layers and the technical specification.

Coating system application

Individual layers are applied according to the agreed specification and execution conditions. Edges, welds, corners and other critical areas require particular attention.

Inspection and handover

Before handover we check appearance and surface integrity, critical areas and dry film thickness. The scope of measurement and any output documentation follows the technical job specification.

Capacity for parts that need space

With large steel products, coating alone is not the only factor. Access to individual surfaces, safe handling options and enough room for preparation and application also matter.

The Dubnica nad Váhom facility allows large-format parts to be processed under controlled conditions. For any specific product we still assess suitability by dimensions, shape, weight and handling options.

Basic information is enough for a first assessment

You do not need full technical documentation. For a first assessment, the following help most:

  • photos of the part or structure
  • drawing or basic dimensions
  • approximate weight
  • surface condition or condition of the existing coating
  • required coating system or colour, if known
  • required deadline
  • whether the part can be delivered to the shop

From your information we assess feasibility and the next steps.

Frequently asked questions

What does LAKES do?

LAKES carries out industrial wet painting of steel parts and structures. We also provide coating renewal and surface preparation; mobile coating is assessed according to the conditions of each job.

How large can the parts be?

In the shop we can process parts up to 15 m long and 5 m high, with handling up to 10 t. We have 1,500 m² of operational floor space. For a specific part, shape, positioning and safe handling also matter.

Can you work on damaged existing coatings?

Yes. For renewal we first assess substrate condition, adhesion of original layers and the extent of damage. Only then is the appropriate scope of renewal defined.

Do you coat on the customer’s site?

Mobile coating is considered for structures and parts that cannot practically be moved to the shop. Suitability depends on access, surface condition, protection of the surroundings and scope of work.
