LAKES, s. r. o. is a Slovak company focused on industrial wet coating, coating renewal and surface protection of steel parts and structures.
The company was established in 2020 by separating the coating operation from an engineering firm. That created a dedicated space for a service fully focused on industrial coating, technical assessment of jobs and processing of larger steel products. The team draws on long-standing experience in industrial environments, manufacturing and surface treatment.
From the outset we have operated in Dubnica nad Váhom. Step by step we built the facility, work organisation and technical infrastructure so we can reliably process jobs for machinery production and more demanding industrial projects.
We grew from the needs of industrial manufacturing
LAKES was not set up as a general-purpose paint shop. From the start it was built around industrial jobs where the final shade or visual impression alone is not enough.
For steel parts, substrate condition, dimensions, handling method, required coating system and the environment in which the product will operate all matter. That is why we treat every job individually and in a wider technical context.
Operating as a standalone company let us build a service focused solely on industrial wet coating and related work. Today thousands of steel parts and structures pass through our facility each year — from smaller production components to large and oversized products that need more space, proper handling and a rigorous technical approach.
We work for companies that supply industry
Our typical customers are engineering and manufacturing firms that need reliable external capacity for coating new products or renewing existing coatings.
A large share of jobs is for Slovak companies whose products go on to domestic and foreign customers. Surface treatment is therefore often the last important stage before handover, assembly or dispatch.
We process parts and structures for various industrial sectors, mainly machinery, petrochemical, energy, process equipment, steel structures and defence. This is not a repeat of one universal procedure. Every job has its own technical requirements, function and demands on the final surface treatment.
Facility in Dubnica nad Váhom for large and oversized parts
One of LAKES’s main strengths is the ability to work with large and oversized steel products.
The facility in Dubnica nad Váhom covers 1,500 m² and allows processing of parts up to 15 m long, 5 m high and handling up to 10 t. These capabilities matter especially for jobs that need adequate space during preparation, coating, inspection and handover.
Dimensions alone are never the only criterion. When assessing a job we also consider part shape, surface condition, handling options, sensitive or uncoated areas and technical documentation requirements.

The result depends on the right process, not only the final coat
In industrial coating, quality does not appear only with the last spray pass. Substrate condition, the chosen coating system, correct layer build-up and consistency at the most stressed areas all matter.
We pay particular attention to critical areas such as edges, welds and corners, where the protective layer is most vulnerable. Jobs are carried out under controlled shop conditions and according to the agreed technical specification.
Final inspection can, depending on project requirements, include visual checks, dry film thickness (DFT) measurement and relevant documentation. The aim is not only a coated part, but a surface treatment that matches the product’s function and operating conditions.
